Tech Requests and Work Orders

Make a post here if you have technology problems in your room. Be sure to include your name, rm# and sn# of the computer that is not behaving.

Also post here if you have any technology requests (like another student station or a tripod, etc.) or if you have any technology you would like to give away, trade, etc.

Thanks for your help ... but I need more help!! My printer is not responding. It has some previous job pending and it won't let me delete it, so the new job is waiting behind the other job. I'm handwriting my labels ... yet would like to solve this problem so I may use my printer soon.

I have tried to log on under other like we did in the lab. I changed my password. I cannot get any password to log me in. I can log in using teacher but I think that logs me in under the teacher section.

Hi Eva,

The teacher station EMAC in Room 18 has not been working. It does not connect to the server (while other computers are connecting to server) and therefore we cannot log in. This Emac has been having different problems each week, but this week it is completely OUT OF ORDER!

Tring again. Have more info about my computer ?? concerns. The computer screen freezes on my powerpoint slide but I can click on my mouse and the slide will change on my big monitor. It won't let me quit the power point unless I shut down the computer by holding on to the on / off button.

Hi Eva.
Monique and I looked at her sick computer. It seems to have the same symptoms that my computer displayed. She left it on, all day, with the blue screen going, and hours later, the log-in screen appeared. She's going to leave it on for fear of losing the connection again. It did work for her all day long today. We also solved another mysterious computer problem.

Hello again.

How do I do a virus scan on my Shemp laptop? I typed a Word document. I attached it to an e-mail and it was apparently received but I got a message back saying that a virus was attached to it and to scan all attachments before sending. How could I have picked up a virus by typing a plain old word processing document and sending it with an e-mail?

Anyhow, I was attempting to download a video from unitedstreaming and my computer did not go to an application to open it up and view it ... help!

My white eMac student station is extremely blurry to the point where you cannot read print. There is nothing to adjust on the outside. The fellow that worked on it last time said that there may be something loose on the inside. I have taken very good care of it. It's never been jostled around or bumped. One day it just appeared blurry and it has never gone back to focused.

Nancy Deline in room 22's teacher station is not working. The desktop is up, but it is not repsonding to clicking on icons and pull down menus. The mouse works. I already unplugged everything and plugged everything back in the next day. Maybe this is a job for Andrew>? Also should I give her a temp laptop to use until it's fixed?

I love your boots!

My e-mac computers, serial numbers YM3494GBPPA (teacher) and G84350BQQJ7 (student) cannot or will not print to my only printer, HP Deskjet 895Cse. (Not just for me, also would not print for my PLC group when they were in my room). The computer recognizes the printer and then says it is "processing" - forever... Could you please help me be able to print, in my classroom.

Hi Eva,
How are you today? Not too busy, ... I hope. A few Tech troubles ...
1. Need the cable to connect TV to Computer for sound.
2. Need updated iphoto loaded onto my computers.
3. Help! My iphoto library of pictures are not accessible ???? I am not clear why, something to do with the version of iphoto that I currently have. Somehow my pictures are on a newer version, but I do not have new version on my computer. Go figure.
4. I saved some pictures on my usb key fob that I wanted printed. The picture printer said it detected a memory card error! Something with reformatting? maybe or maybe the pictures are not saved properly onto usb because of the iphoto issue.
5. Still need AR to work for 6 student who get error #16034, any progress? Please keep me posted.

Well that's all for now. I don't really have time to write long notes like this ... Sorry ! Hope you have time to read it.

Having fun with all of my new technology skills! My AR won't allow one student on to take tests. It's the same problem that Suzanne has. After the child takes the test, AR posts an error and the child's test isn't recorded. It's frustrating for her to see everyone participating. Thanks for whatever you can do.

Hope you are well. I am writing to you to get some printer support. My printer is not printing, although I have all four ink colors. I have tried cleaning the "headers"(?), and some other things, but it tries to print, and will only print some colors. Maybe, the black cartridge I got from you isn't working??? Anyways, I would love you to come and check it out!

Thank you for helping me succesfully get Level I certified! You are awesome!
The two EMACs in Room 18 are not working properly.
Teacher Station: At times it does not connec to the server, or it will show my dektop without any documents on it when I log in.
Student Station: On Open House day this computer crashed. All we could get was a blank blue screen. Days later I was able to get it to work again, but I do not trust it.
Both computers can be reconfigure. We have nothing to lose!

Help, my beloved epson C64 will not print black, it will print colors, but they are not accurate in color. I replaced the black ink because it said it was out, didn't print any black after replacement, cleaned the heads, tried to do a test print, replaced the black ink with another new black ink, didn't print still, cleaned with a Q tip a little build up on the black hole, made sure the ink was coming out, still won't print!! Thanks

I am placing this order for Carly. She only seems to have one hot internet port. Is there any way for her to get a second port hot? Also her teacher station is running VERY slow. There is no obvious reason for it to be running so slowly. Can it be checked?

HI Eva,

CC gave me a new powercord for the laptop I have checked out. The original power cord does not work properly, it works in a few "tight" plugs , but does not work in any of the electrical outllets in my classroom. CC should bring this matter to you soon!

On November 2, the airport wasn't working for whatever reason. Lucia, Sheila and I couldn't connect to the Internet. I didn't change or touch anything since our Staff Development Day. Maybe it was just the weather! I did try restarting and logging in again. Maybe it will work tomorrow. I tried different computers to see if it made a difference. If the Internet is working, I would still love another personal session for HelpMe2Learn. Thank you, CC

An evil spell has cast Firefox away from my yellow dot computer. Your Royal Servant Carmen reinstalled Firefox last week but the spell was too potent and Firefox was forced to flee again. A second Royal Servant C.C. attempt to find Firefox just now but her efforts were in vain. Now, I can no longer access my district e-mail. Hopefully, like in fairy tales, the third time is the charm. Could you or Prince Andrew glue Firefox back in my computer?

Hi Eva,

I am still having problems with the power cord for my laptop. At this moment, the power cord is not working for more than a couple minutes at a time, and I have NO power at all. I have used an extra cord to connect the transformer to an outlet (as you suggested), but that does not work either. I am thinking that the problem is in the transformer itself, and not with the outside connectors. I just spoke with and Apple costumer service person this morning, It took about 45 minutes ;( just to get to the right person. Anyways, given the serial number of the laptop I have, the person said that he could not send me a new powercord because his records do not show an extended warranty on this computer. If the school purchased an extended warranty and we have the info, we can have them send us a new powercord. If not, a new power cord can be purchased for $71.00. I do not know what is the best way to solve this problem.
In the meantime, I would like to borrow a power cord so I can continue using the laptop. Let me know what you think is the best way to go about this matter. Thank you!

I have a large paperweight that goes by the sn# G8438HBTQQH. It often freezes before showing the desktop. When disconnected from "everyone and their mother" sign in (internet) it turns on but freezes after being on 20mins. P.S. Can we have that long list of sign in names removed. I would appreciate Andrew coming to help me with setting up a document camera and also I cannot seem to get the student laptops to print to the Curly Cart. The Teacher laptop will print. Maybe I have the wrong IP address. If I can get one to print, I can set up the rest. Maggie and Nancy J. have both given a lot of their time to help with this challenge. Maggie was sure that the IP address was 192.168.16.33
